Of MW's Visions!
Have you ever looked at something and instantly seen how it could look better? Have you visualized a 'new look' for something - a place, a person, a color scheme - so vividly that you know you have a good thing going? If you have, then you'll understand what I'm talking about.
This MW's been having visions. For the past few years, they've grown stronger. I look at spaces and see transformation. I look at homes and see possibilities where home-owners think none exist. I see designer homes lurking beneath the clutter. I see beautiful landscaped parks where now grass grows wild and a little cow trail passes through. I see wrought-iron fences, buildings with fresh, clean paint,a city without hoardings.
And the funny part is, I know I can make every one of these visions come true. I know it because I've seen and believed. I've transformed spaces in my own home and at work (much to the initial annoyance of everybody). It's possible to live a life that's organized, neat, clutter free, luxurious and yet practical. And the best part is, a transformation like this is not expensive at all. All it needs is re-arranging and some creativity. And a willingness to risk handing over your space to someone else.
Near my house is a little open space; wild grass grows unquestioned around a huge white cross. It's a landmark in the area and I've always wondered why the place was never developed. The cross attracts crowds during the month of May for the Rosary and the feast of the Holy Cross is celebrated with great gusto each year at the site. Each time I pass by, I SEE (and I mean, literally - like a slide show or a drawing board model) what the place is capable of being. I see a simple, landscaped garden. Lush green grass, maintained perfectly. I see a fence to keep out animals and anti-social elements. I see a few benches where people who can't sit on the grass can rest a while.I see a perfect spot for the young and the old to come together instead of the roaring bikes and the coffee shops that charge far too much. I see a serene place where kids can play without fear of being run over or kidnapped. I 'see' all this in a split second. And I want a chance to turn it into reality.
However, the site is under dispute, so there's not much I can do about it now (I felt strongly enough to check about it with the Parish Priest!)
Never mind, there will be other spaces.
Like my mum's bedroom :) It's amazing what effect you can get by just moving things around a bit, creating some storage, throwing out some stuff and generally putting things where they should be in the first place. This MW was very pleased with an afternoon's work and the results that came up!
Are you fed up with the way you live? Does it take ages for you to find something - clothes, shoes, office papers? Do you rush around saying "I know it's around here somewhere!"? Would you like to have a life that's less rushed, less stressed out? Do you have too much stuff and too little space (or so you think) and want to do something about it? Do you want ideas on how to make your living space, your office, your surroundings better?
If you've said "yes" to even one, you know whom to get in touch with! I've got visions, but not hallucinations, I promise. This is what I enjoy doing, and I like to think I'm damn good at it too!
So go ahead, what are you waiting for? You have nothing to lose but your clutter!
Nice post.
