The Hours

I just finished reading "The Hours" by Michael Cunningham, which was later made into a movie starring Nicole Kidman,Meryl Streep, Julianne Moore and Ed Harris. The book is influenced by 'Mrs.Dalloway' by Virginia Woolf. I've seen the movie before I read the book, so I remembered most of the plot - but perhaps I wasn't paying much attention, because some of the ending did take me by surprise - although now that I think of it, the movie did do justice to the book, especially to the end.
