A weekend in another city

Back in the city post a whirlwind trip to Goa for a wedding. Four hectic days and a world later, here I am back at my boring desk when I'd rather be watching the Mandovi gently flow by. Sigh. Can't have everything..

George Burns once said 'Happiness is having a large, loving, caring, close-knit family in another city.' I agree. Experienced it first hand. People I have never met before or even heard names of, welcomed me with open arms into their hearts and homes. It was a good feeling. Already looking forward to the next trip :)

-----------------------------------------------------------
Okay, enough fooling around now. Got to get my novel started. Am going to finish 50,000 words. Only my laziness can stop me. Last night, as the rest of the passengers in the train slept post dinner, I wrote about 100 words in the dark, managing to keep my eye-sight and my creativity working as I tried to get comfortable on the top berth. Sent a silent prayer to the One Up There for confirming our tickets at the last moment, so we could sleep in air-conditioned comfort and not worry about the heat frying us. I have to only find the paper now and decipher the writing(!)
