A new discovery!
This morning I took a new path for my walk onto the Rye, which is a 53 acre park right in the middle of town. I followed the path, unsure whether it was okay to walk on the grass (it was). And then took a turn behind some buildings. And found water. I was so surprised I almost fell in. I didn't expect a mini-river to be flowing quietly at the back of this park! And certainly not with ducks and swans. Oh, it was wonderful, and so peaceful!
As I left the Rye, I was treated to a spectacular sight of two large geese coming in to land on the water. They swooped down, legs first, feathers flapping furiously, imitating a 747 about to land on a runway (or is it the other way around?!). They landed gracefully, with a splash , together. The performance reminded me of synchronized diving. It was a perfect beginning to the day. Mr.R, would you like to talk a walk with me after work? :)
