Getting Children to Read
I'm writing an article on how to get children to read.
If you are a parent, I'd love to hear any tips or advice on what books your child reads, how you encouraged your child to read or any other resources on the subject.
If you are not a parent, how about sharing your own experience? Did you enjoy reading as a child? Did your parents encourage you? If so, how? Again, any tips would be appreciated!
I'm on a deadline, so please feel free to leave a comment or ask a question. Looking forward to your responses.

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI have a four year old boy, and I've noticed he's always keen to read if he gets to choose the book. If I choose, he may or may not enjoy it - but if its a Spiderman, Superman or Ben10 book - he'll chase me around the house to get me to read it to him.
He recently borrowed a Spot book from the library - one where you have to lift flaps and stuff, and enjoyed it so much that he did not want to return it. I never expected him to like it so much!
Hi Manisha,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment. Pity, I've already submitted my article (deadlines!) or I'd have loved to include your comment. Glad your son is enjoying reading!
Are you in India? I'm trying to figure out what library facilities are available there - you mentioned a library...
