Suggestions wanted...

I am looking to change my e-mail address. I have a Rediffmail account which has worked fine for many years, but lately has been misbehaving - either the page takes ages to upload (tried it on different PC's ) and then has an error, I lose emails that I type and I don't get emails from people who I know have sent them to me.Emails marked to Mr.R and me (two different id's) don't end up in my mailbox, just his. It's really weird and terribly annoying. I don't know if this is a temporary glitch - rediffmail help does not bother to reply to queries that question their servers integrity!

So. Any suggestions for an alternate email provider? Yahoo (doesn't have the id I want...), Indiatimes (already have an id; the spam filters are terrible), Hotmail (bah!), gmail (have an id, not happy with it)...

I need an id with just my (real) name; anything else seems too flippant and unprofessional especially when you are writing to editors. I have a pretty uncommon name, but surprisingly, there are others in the world who have already taken it. Maybe I could write to them and ask them to give me the id. Maybe I should just change my name...

Any suggestions?
